To transmit video over a single USB-C cable, your port must support video—usually via DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB4, or Thunderbolt. Simply listing “USB-C” or “USB 3.2” in the specifications isn’t always enough.
MacBook with M1, M2, or M3?
Base models with an M1, M2, or M3 chip typically support only one external display by default. For two additional displays, choose a OneCable model with the included driver. Pro, Max, Ultra, and newer models may have different capabilities; always check your specific model.

Both models feature an additional 15.6-inch Full HD display with a 60 Hz refresh rate. The standard Lite is the logical choice if you’re primarily looking for an affordable secondary screen for documents, email, and web browsing. The Lite Touchscreen adds touch control for interactive work and on-screen navigation. Does every USB-C port work with a Screenmate?
No. To display video via USB-C, the port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB4, or Thunderbolt. A USB-C port that only supports data transfer or charging will not transmit video.
When do I need a driver?
Most Screenmates use your laptop's video outputs and do not require a driver. OneCable uses an included driver to connect two additional screens via a single USB-C cable. Panorama also uses a driver.
Can a MacBook M1, M2, or M3 support two additional displays?
The base models typically support one external display as standard. With a OneCable model and the included driver, you may be able to connect two additional displays. Always check your exact MacBook model.
What is the difference between Expand and Flip?
Expand is designed for a spacious dual workspace. Flip adds a swivel screen, making it better suited for presentations or collaboration at a table.
Which is better, 4K or 144 Hz?
